Gary is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and served as State Chairman of that organization, in 2003 and 2004. He graduated from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 1968. After spending three years in the United States Marine Corps, Gary returned to Bloomington to practice law, specializing in civil trial work. Gary has served as a Diplomat and Past President of the Indiana Defense Lawyers Association (now the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana) and is a member of the Association of Defense Trial Lawyers, the International Association of Defense Lawyers, and the Defense Research Institute, from which he has received the "Exceptional Performance Citation."

Gary represents clients in medical and legal malpractice, environmental/toxic torts, insurance contracts and coverage, products liability, and business, premises and automobile litigation.
