Carrie graduated from Indiana University Kelley School of Business, in 1993, with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, and from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, in 1998.

Carrie's primary area of practice is family law, including divorce, child custody and support issues, adoptions, guardianships, and paternity matters. She also practices in business and civil litigation and landlord/tenant law. She was admitted to the bar in Indiana and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Indiana, in 1998.

Carrie, a long-term resident of Bloomington, is a graduate of Bloomington South High School. She is active in the community, having served on the Board of the Monroe County Chapter of the American Red Cross for six years, and currently volunteers for the Girl Scouts of America, Tulip Trace Council. She also is a volunteer attorney for the Shalom Legal Clinic and the Protective Order Project.
